What are mealtimes like at your place?
I feel like mealtimes require me to fill many roles.
The Role of Magician
“You don’t want chicken, you want the bacon you ate last Wednesday? Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat whilst I conjure up this bacon of which you speak.”
The Role of U.N Peacekeeper
“Please refrain from hurling your plate across the table and calmly direct your complaints to the Chief Kitchen Commander.”
The Role of Psychologist
“What did the broccoli do to you? Please don’t take out your issues on the broccoli.”
I often emerge from mealtimes with my toddler feeling exhausted and dejected.

Stick with me here- I’m about to go from mealtime challenges to Taylor Swift.
You know how Tay-Tay has her own Girl Squad?
Blogging has allowed me to have my own super-cool Virtual Girl Squad. (Without the angsty songs based on relationship breakdowns or the wardrobe or multi-million dollar earnings.)
Simone from Play With Food has been in my Girl Squad right from the start.

I love a good “journey” story, and Simone’s journey story is a pearler.
She is a mum of 2 little girls who has a background in Food Manufacturing and a Masters degree in Food Studies.
Whilst on maternity leave in 2012, she studied a certificate in Child’s Nutrition hoping to equip herself with knowledge for her own family. However, it inspired her on a much greater level and she started Play With Food.
Simone is passionate about making food fun for children and creating healthy eating experiences.
Her passion is contagious.

By following Simone on Facebook and Instagram, I am continually learning new strategies to implement with my toddler at mealtimes.
Simone has teamed up with Shari from Good Food Week and Mandy from Little People Nutrition to create the Happy Mealtimes eCourse.
Designed for busy parents, the 7-module eCourse will take the parents 1-2 hours per module over the duration of 3 weeks.
It is designed on a device responsive platform with lots of bonus content, interactive webinars (that are recorded for watching again later) and video/audio footage.

“We want parents to stop feeling guilty and develop a great artillery of tools & proven strategies to win mealtime battles.  We are wanting to give parents the confidence to back themselves,” says Simone.
“The most rewarding part of what I do, as a feeding educator, is watching parents step back and see their kids happily eat something new. This course gives parents practical advice to implement around their busy schedules. Parents often report seeing improvements straight away when they take on board this information. Mandy is so savvy at shopping for healthy foods on a budget whilst Shari has so much real advice on how to meal plan to suit your own circumstances.”

Perfect for parents wanting to start the New Year off on the right foot by putting an end to mealtime battles, the Healthy Mealtimes eCourse starts on the 4th of January.
