Through blogging and Instagramming, I’ve been introduced to an amazing Virtual Sisterhood of Creative Ladies.
The Oh Creative Lady series is your chance to meet these incredible, kind-hearted, inspiring <insert ALL the happy, positive adjectives HERE> women.
Last Christmas, I signed up to do the Fat Mum Slim Gift Exchange. In a stroke of amazing luck, Suki McMaster was assigned to be my Secret Elf. I received a package filled with her gorgeous products. Ever since, we’ve kept in touch via Instagram. Suki’s products reflect her cheery, fun approach to life. I love following her adventures and seeing how passionate she is about her work. Welcome, Suki!
I am… Suki McMaster a homeware designer from Sydney/ Melbourne. We have only just relocated to Essendon 2 weeks ago so I don’t really know if I should say I am from Melbourne yet! I live with my husband but hopefully we’ll get a dog soon!
I find inspiration…from everywhere. I used to teach Chinese brush painting for 5 years and my students have been my inspiration for a long time. Now it’s my husband and travel. For example, the bear in most of my illustrations are inspired by my lovely husband. If you’ve met him you know what I mean. We love travelling. I am constantly inspired by all the beautiful nature I see in Australia.
I am excited about …moving to Melbourne! I can’t wait to meet all the creative people and the lovely Melbourians. We are expanding the business in different direction and I am very excited about it.
When I’m in a creative slump, I… go to clean the house! Otherwise I will go on Pinterest, listen to music and eat cakes!
I’m really proud of… my 2 published books. Having more than 20 shops in Australia stocking my products. I am also secretly proud of I can eat so much more food than a normal person!
Someone once told me… I am the most beautiful girl in the world but later I found it was a complete lie! Hahah… oh this is a very difficult question because every now and then I’ve got good advice from my people and I am like “oh yeh that’s so true I have to write it down” but when I need them they are no where to be found! What I can think of right now is someone once told me… you should stick with people who have a similar mind. Then you can learn from their experience and wisdom.
My advice to you is… be your own trend. We don’t have to follow whatever other people are doing. Just because everyone loves flamingo and watermelon doesn’t mean you have to.
