Join the Robot Story Challenge

What if we turned your child's love for colouring and story-telling into an animation? Join the Robot Story Challenge and animate your child's imagination.

Let’s all hear it for my husband who coined the term “colou-rintable.” ©
“It’s a printable, colouring- in sheet. Get it? Get it?” he told me.
Yep, got it. Round of applause.
Just quietly, I think it’s a fairly fab term. (But don’t tell him that. Big head and all.)

My husband is the super creative one in this partnership.
Heck- he has the word “creative” in his job title.
(He’s a Creative Director.)
We thought it might be fun to pool our skills and collaborate on a project.
Do you want to be a part of our Robot Story challenge?

Do you have children with vivid imaginations?
Do you have children who love colouring in?
Do these same children also enjoy story-telling?
What if we combined their love for colouring and story-telling and animated their imagination?

Here’s what you need to do to join the
Robot Story Colou-rintable Challenge.

1. Join all the cool, creative cats in my Newsletter Squad

At the end of this post, you’ll find some boxes to enter your first name, last name and email.
Fill in your deets and hit GO!
(If you’re on a desktop, you can also sign up in the side bar to the right or at the top of the site.)

2. Check your inbox. Quick sticks!

I’ll immediately email you 2 robot colou-rintables.

If you’re already in my Newsletter Squad – thank you! – and never fear, I’ll be emailing you all some colou-rintables.

3. Print. Colour. Take a photo

Print off a colou-rintable and have your child colour it in however pleases them.
We started off with pencils and markers. Before long, the paint sticks, watercolours and stickers were out.
I strongly advise to colour in a robot alongside your child. This is where the fun conversations about the robot’s story take place.
Take a photo of your child’s robot.
TIP: Take your photo in a well-lit place on a plain background.

4. Ask your child to develop a story about the robot

You might like to ask guiding questions like,
“What is the robot’s name?”
“What does your robot like or dislike?”
“Where does your robot live?”
“What’s a problem that your robot might face?”
“How could the robot solve this problem?”

5. Email me!

Attach a photo of your child’s robot together with their story.
You can reach me at shannon@ohcreativeday.com
One lucky entrant will have their work animated.

This challenge is open from January 30th, 2018. It will run for all of February.
On February 28th 2018 at 9pm AEST, my husband and I will choose the story that most captures our hearts and imaginations. (This is a game of skill and not chance. Judges’ decision is final.)
We will then set to work animating this story.
(Okay let’s be honest- he’ll do the animating. I’ll be Project Manager and narrator.)
We will email a copy of the winner’s animation to them and share the animation via social media.

Let’s get ready to robot!
