DIY Christmas Crackers Using Kids’ Artwork
It’s that time of the year when kiddy artwork comes flooding in from school and day care.
What do you do with all the piles and piles of masterpieces?
I’ve written previously about 7 ways to repurpose your kids’ artworks.
Christmas time is the perfect time to repurpose kiddy artwork into a variety of festive bits and bobs. Cards, garlands, gift tags, wrapping paper….
Or my personal fave- DIY Christmas crackers. Or Bon Bons. What do you call them?
It’s ridiculously simple.
This is also a great project for making use of the paper tube collection.
(Please tell me everybody has an epic paper tube collection?!)
Grab a paper tube and fill it with loot. Candy, handwritten jokes, little toys….
To give your crackers some pop, grab some Christmas cracker snaps at your craft shop.
Slide the snap into the tube.
Wrap some tissue paper around the tube. Twist the tissue paper at the ends of the paper tube.
Cut artwork into strips of paper that can be wrapped around the paper tube.
Hold the artwork in place with washi tape. Embellish as you please!
And there you have it. DIY Christmas crackers from kiddy artwork.
Loads of fun to make and each one is completely unique.
